Das Sonnenhaus
This brochure from the Sonnenhaus-Institut (Germany) describes the concept of solar houses with very low heating needs and that are equipped with a large solar thermal system (30 to 60 square meters of solar panels and a big heat storage - 6 000 to 10 000 liters) for domestic hot water and space heating. Additional heating is provided by wood appliance(s). In such houses, the experience shows that solar energy covers around two thirds of heating and domestic hot water needs.
