'Scaling-up sustainable construction Through value chain innovation' forum report is now available

The 13th European Forum on Eco-Innovation under the title "Scaling-up sustainable construction Through value chain innovation" took place in Amsterdam on 25 and 26 April 2012. In the context of the implementation of the Eco-innovation Action Plan (EcoAP), the 12th European Forum on Eco-innovation aimed at assessing the chain management of the construction sector in an integrated and systemic approach. The ways in which eco-innovation solutions have a scaled-up effect on sustainable construction was the centre of the debate. The forum report is now available.

Architects, engineers, financers and EU officials gathered in Amsterdam on 25-26 April to provide insights, field experiences and to discuss both the sector’s state of play and future policy developments. The forum aimed to answer the following questions: Who should be the main stakeholders to push forward and implement existing solutions? With so many players, who should address the sustainable construction issue in a coherent and systemic manner? Who can take the lead? Moreover, how can the construction industry face up to the current crisis which may prevent the implementation of new technologies or construction, certifications and standards? The 12th EcoAP Forum was jointly organised by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure, the Netherlands Agency and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for the Environment.
