Interview of Mrs Ticau, Member of the European Parliament, Rapporteur for the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive

"The European Parliament could not accept a weak directive." tells Mrs Ticau in her interview in REHVA journal. "Thus, the success of this directive will depend on the determination of the European Union to motivate Member States and the European citizens to invest in energy efficiency in buildings. It is easier to establish energy efficiency requirements for new buildings as well as for public buildings. As regard to the existing buildings, we should take into account the type of property which differs from a Member State to another and the affordability of such of investment for the European citizens." continues Mrs Ticau.
