Guidelines for the Evaluation of Building Performance
These guidelines from the European Project BuildingEQ describe a 4-step procedure for the cost effective performance analysis of buildings that follows a general top-down approach and which tries to combine the
outcomes of the certification process according to EPBD with continuous commissioning. The idea of this
top-down approach is to put effort in form of measurements and analysis only where and when necessary. Flow charts are presented for each step that guides the analyst through the process in order to “standardize” the analysis. The Guidelines also give an overview over the individual situation in four countries (Germany, Sweden, Italy, Finland) that make clear that the implementation of the EPBD regarding the evaluation of building performance is very different in the various Member States.
