The Commission is in the process of updating some of the content on this website in light of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. If the site contains content that does not yet reflect the withdrawal of the United Kingdom, it is unintentional and will be addressed.

The Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) template is the first step in providing practical support to the Covenant Signatories. The SEAP template will help the signatories to structure their actions and measures, and to follow up implementation. At the same time the template is a valuable tool for collecting key information from the Sustainable Energy Action Plans, and thus encouraging exchanges of experience.

The UK has announced a package to increase energy efficiency in households. The Home Energy Saving Programme will help households save €350 a year on energy costs. Legislation introduced under the programme requires energy companies to invest over €1 billion to make homes more energy efficient. This programme will provide funding to both the existing Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) scheme, and the new Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP).
