The production and use of energy across economic sectors account for more than 75% of the EU’s greenhouse gas emissions. Energy efficiency (EE) must be prioritised. If we all want to go towards electrification, digitalisation and all the necessary elements that a successful and just transition entails, we need to cut radically our energy demand, by half by 2050 in comparison to 2005, says the Commission.

The aim of the event is two-fold – firstly, to present the analysis and findings of the Level(s) test phase; and, secondly, to further engage with testers, test co-ordinators and stakeholders more widely from the building sector on how to revise Level(s) and ensure its success. BIM4EEB is a European funded project that aims to develop a BIM-based toolkit for energy-efficient building renovation. The project has just completed the first year of activities in full steam. Along the year, project partners have run surveys, interviews, conducted researches and are now strongly engaged in the development of the BIM4EEB platform and the Building Information Modelling (BIM) toolkit.

The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), organised by the European Commission, is the biggest event dedicated to renewable energy sources and efficient energy use in Europe.
It brings together public authorities, private companies, NGOs and consumers to promote initiatives to save energy and move towards renewables for clean, secure and efficient power. The event provides a unique platform for sharing ideas and knowhow, to showcase projects, network and gain immediate feedback from policymakers and citizens alike.
