The climate emergency is one of the most talked about and vocalised issues the population of the Earth currently faces with climate strikes now being a weekly occurrence and with a regular spot on the 6 o'clock news, it's no surprise that mitigation against climate change is high on the policy agenda.

The final conference of ENERJ on September 11 in Thessaloniki brought together the partners of this Interreg MED project with a group of national and international experts to review the results obtained and put them into the larger perspective of the energy transformation in the Mediterranean.

This Deliverable has been prepared under Work Package 2 (Formulating recommendations on national energy policy priorities for 2050 and fostering multi – level cooperation and governance). It provides information about national long-term energy and climate policy priorities, indicates bottom-up recommendations on targets, priorities and actions for 2050 and sets recommendations for multi - level governance improvements in each project country.

Climate change is already underway, and some dangerous consequences include warmer average temperatures and severe and frequent heat waves.
The recent heat waves, which set new temperature records in Europe, has shown that Western, Central and Nordic cities are more vulnerable to heat stress than those already facing heat regularly in the Southern Europe.

The general objective of EduFootprint Project is to better manage, plan and monitor the energy consumption in public buildings in the Mediterranean area.
Specifically, EduFootprint aims to reach this aim working focused in public school buildings with an innovative Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach, considering not just direct energy impacts of buildings (consumption), but also indirect ones (public procurement or general human awareness and behaviour).

Today, over 20 countries from the World Green Building Council's (WorldGBC) Europe Regional Network (WorldGBC Europe) have published a manifesto, A Sustainable Built Environment at the Heart of Europe’s Future urging European decision makers to recognise the vital role that the built environment sector plays in delivering a climate neutral Europe.

This is a Decision-Support Tool, implemented in an online web-based application, with the main purpose of helping local and regional authorities to relatively easy and quickly calculate energy and financial savings in individual public buildings and for the whole building stock by applying different energy efficiency measures.
