Convincing decision makers tool is about how to convince decission makers to invest in energy efficiency. The main message is that convincing decision makers needs really strong arguments and facts.   This means clear numbers and visual charts (like pay-back time), which are simple and easy to understand. Beautiful words are not enough alone, but of course verbal arguments are needed to reach positive decision for energy efficiency investment.

Nearly Zero-Energy Building (NZEB) standards have become a mandatory requirement in Europe for new construction from 2020, however increasing the rate, depth, quality and effectiveness of building renovation remains a challenge since the current European average rate of renovation is only 1.2 % per year

The European Banking Federation (EBF) and  UNEP FI are co-organizing an online event to launch a report: Testing the application of the EU Taxonomy to core banking products: High level recommendations on 26 – 27 January 2021.   This report is the result of 25 major banks, seven banking associations and five observing organisations working together to test, pilot and assess the complexities of applying the EU Taxonomy to core banking products.

Concept:   Regional and local authorities need to precisely determine, control and demonstrate their sustainable energy and climate actions to increase their efficiency.   The EU-funded ENERGee Watch project will support peer-to-peer learning for municipal and regional associations and networks to understand how different sustainable energy and climate mitigation actions have been controlled and assessed.

Concept:   The EU has called on countries of central and eastern Europe (CEE) to do more to meet its 2050 net-zero emissions goals.   Based on an assessment of national energy and climate plans, CEE countries need to boost their potentials for efficient use of energy.

Hosting capacity can be reached through the market uptake of citizen energy communities (CEC).   The EU-funded LIGHTNESS project will increase the renewable energy capacity through social engagement, a regulatory roadmap, a low-cost technological package and innovative business models.
