The European Banking Federation (EBF) and UNEP FI are co-organizing an online event to launch a report: Testing the application of the EU Taxonomy to core banking products: High level recommendations on 26 – 27 January 2021. This report is the result of 25 major banks, seven banking associations and five observing organisations working together to test, pilot and assess the complexities of applying the EU Taxonomy to core banking products.

As of 12 January 2021, the 22nd edition of the European Energy Transition Conference – the annual appointment of the local players committed to energy transition – will open. As they do every year, representatives of the public authorities, the economic and academic worlds and the civil society will meet up to debate and share their experience of local energy transition around a programme made up of over a hundred events – plenary sessions and workshops.

Heating and cooling accounts for almost half of global energy consumption. With most of this relying fossil fuels, however, it contributes heavily to greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. In parts of the world lacking modern energy access, meanwhile, inefficient biomass use for cooking also harms people’s health, damages the environment and reduces social well-being.

ePANACEA’s methodology aims to contribute to the harmonisation of energy performance assessment and certification of buildings across the European Union, enhancing market trust and user friendliness in terms of clarity and accuracy of the information provided. ePANACEA’s methodology will be demonstrated and validated in five European pilot countries through 15 real case studies.

ePANACEA user-needs workshops will take place from mid December 2020 to mid January 2021, and end users of EPC as well as other stakeholders are invited to take part. The workshops, each with in total 15 participants, will have a duration of approx. 2 hours and will be conducted by project partners in the ePANACEA pilot countries Spain, Belgium, Finland, Austria, and Greece, as well as in Germany.

ePANACEA has successfully launched Regional Exploitation Board activities. The five Regional Exploitation Boards (REBs) aim to cover all EU27+UK+Norway, consisting of important European stakeholders related to national EPC activities.
