The Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS) and the Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities (UBBSLA) have developed a collaboration project on energy efficiency, renewable energy and the reduction of greenhouse gases. This brochure provides information about the actions being carried out as part of the Bulgarian-Norwegian cooperation project. The Bulgarian municipalities of Bourgas, Varna and Dobrich and Norwegian municipalities in Sør-Østerdal and Arendal are participating in the project. To demonstrate the use of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy, a pilot building will be refurbished in each of the three participating Bulgarian cities. Energy audits will be conducted in selected buildings, and energy monitoring systems will be installed. In addition, the brochure shows the efforts in some Norwegian municipalities to reduce their own greenhouse gas emissions.
