Since May 21, 2009, the European Union has decided to spend 8 billion of euros to improve the energy performance of housing with the objective of social cohesion, through the revision of Article 7 of the Regulation European Regional Development Fund. To better understand and analyse the implementation and the added value of this measure for the European Union, the Urban Housing Intergroup will hold a hearing on the implementation of this measure at local level on the 9th December 2010 at the European Parliament. The hearing aims to take stock of the progress in consumption of ERDF energy efficient homes, to better understand the conditions for success and to identify factors for future improvementof the cohesion policy, through discussion with actors on the field.
