Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) organises its 15th edition of Green Building Congress from 4 - 7 October 2017 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The 3-day event would be marked by international conference, concurrent sessions, international exhibition and award programmes.

Today, India is witnessing tremendous growth in infrastructural development. The construction industry is one of the largest economic activities. As the sector is growing rapidly, preserving the environment poses many challenges and at the same time presents wonderful opportunities for various stakeholders. In this regard, green buildings which are designed to use less water, improve energy efficiency, conserve natural resources and provide healthier spaces will play a catalytic role in addressing environmental issues and concerns.

Addressing this imperative, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has established IGBC, with a vision to enable sustainable built-environment for all and facilitate India to be one of the global leaders in sustainable built-environment by 2025. IGBC is represented by all stakeholders of construction industry.

With a modest beginning of 20,000 sq.ft of green footprint in the country in 2001, today over 4,500 IGBC green building projects, amounting to over 4.53 billion sq.ft, are adopting IGBC green building rating systems. This in turn has enabled India to become one of the top 5 countries in the world in terms of the largest registered green building footprint.  IGBC aspires to facilitate 10 billion sq.ft of green building footprint  by 2022 (75th year of India's Independence).

To realise this vision and further advance the green building movement in the country, IGBC has been organising its annual flagship event since 2001 onwards. The event has been evoking excellent response from the stakeholders. Over the years, it has grown significantly in terms of content, outreach and participation. Today, the event has consolidated itself as India's annual flagship event on green buildings. Leading national and international stakeholders will participate in the event to share, learn and explore new growth opportunities.
