Athens Climathon

Ideate. Collaborate. Become part of a Global Community. All in 24 Hours!

On 27 October 2017,, in collaboration with The Cube Athens & Οργάνωση Γη - Organization Earth, is hosting Athens' first Climathon, inviting startups, students, entrepreneurs & technical experts to a 24-hour event that will create a roadmap of innovative solutions for local climate change challenges, based on UN's Global Goal 13 "Climate Action".

Climathon, one of Climate-KiC's main programmes, is a global 24-hour climate change event which will take place simultaneously in major cities around the world, bringing together the challenges of the world’s cities with the people who have the passion and ability to solve them.

Climate-KIC is one of three "Knowledge and Innovation Communities" (KICs) created in 2010 by the EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology, a EU body whose mission is to create sustainable growth. Today, EIT is Europe’s largest public-private innovation partnership focused on climate change, consisting of dynamic companies, the best academic institutions and the public sector.

Happening for the first time in Athens, Climathon, together with its partners, will select a group of motivated participants who will tackle, with the guidance of experienced mentors & awarded presenters, our city's major sustainability goals and will present a set of aspiring best practices to a seasoned panel of judges, concerning issues like city resiliency, energy efficacy, green transportation, resource-efficient food systems, migration integration, but maybe most importantly global citizenship education, within the context of UN-HABITAT's Νew Urban Agenda.

Aspiring #ClimathonAthens participants should apply for free entrance here.
