TripleA-reno project in a nutshell
Under TripleA-reno project, the 16 partners will address the barriers for deep building renovation from end-users’ perspective with the aim to make acceptation and decision making attractive for consumers. TripleA-reno is a 3 years project and is expected to conclude by mid-2021. The acronym TripleA-reno stands for Attractive, Acceptable and Affordable deep Renovation by a consumers orientated and performance evidence based approach.
- Attractive - Attractive means one of the objectives of the project is to raise consumer awareness when it comes to behaviors in homes, by providing attractive personalized information on energy use, indoor environment, health, and lifestyle, by a set of ICT-based solutions (i.e. the gamification platform, virtual reality, energy and 3D modeling etc.). Attractiveness is reflected i.e. in some of the elements of the gamification feature;
- Acceptable - Acceptability refers to the TripleA-reno user-centric approach. The project aims at getting the “renovation motor running, with the end-user in the driver’s seat”. TripleA-reno will involve a various set of users in the co-designing processes, and keep a constant communication flow between consumers and developers to assure design of people-centered products;
- Affordable - Affordable means that by using the TripleA-reno decision support tools (i.e. dynamic and user-centric business models) users can tailor their renovation and make informed and economically-wise decisions. In TripleA-reno affordability reflects the idea of the business model, cost savings for the user and the holistic idea of “user in the center”.
TripleA-reno will develop an open and end-users centred application platform for decision support, quality validation and community building and will incorporate game-design elements in order to among others, motivate participation and engagement of users.
In addition, it aims at providing end-users of deep renovation projects with attractive, understandable and personalised information of realised real performance, by fostering consumer-centred business models that will provide data about indoor environment quality, energy use, health and well-being indicators after a deep renovation process.
In parallel, the development of additional Information and Communication Tools (ICT) will try to assist workers and professionals on learning new technologies, gaining new skills and keep pace with the technical complexity of a renovation processes.
Building upon results from a number of relevant European projects, TripleA-reno aims to achieve a set of specific measurable qualitative objectives:
-To foster new consumer and end-user centered business models and decision support tools, using evidence-based performances that facilitate decision-making;
-Improving performances of deep renovation by enhanced quality control, supported by targeted CPD (continuous professional development) and training, addressing the entire value chain in a cross-trade multidisciplinary approach;
-Providing consumers and end-users of deep renovation projects with attractive, understandable and personalized information of realized real performance;
-To demonstrate the benefits and evidence-based solutions in live demonstration cases;
-To roll out the results on a wider European scale by in Triple A-Reno involved European interest groups and umbrella associations.
