The CoNZEBs project formed the main part of a session at the IAQVEC conference in Bari in September 2019. CoNZEBs project partner held in total 6 presentations including a project overview, different project results and one of the national exemplary NZEB buildings presented in the end-user brochure. The papers are published as open source documents in IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, Volume 609.

The main goal of the EU Horizon 2020 project CoNZEBs was to identify technology combinations for multi-family houses that fulfil the Nearly Zero-Energy Building (NZEB) requirements but result in lower investment costs if compared to the typical (mainstream) NZEB technology combinations.

Build a fully recycled house? Yes, you can with RE4 prefabricated building elements incorporating up to 100% of construction demolition waste! RE4 is a H2020 project which after 4 years has developed and tested on three demo sites in Europe and one demo in Taiwan, an energy efficient prefabricated elements for building refurbishment and construction, including an innovative mobile robotic sorting system. Dr Christoph Gürtler, Prof Walter Leitner and Dr Berit Stange have have proven that CO2 currently emitted by industries to the atmosphere could be turned into tangible and marketable materials for future products. Researchers and industry have joined forces to turn industrial waste gases (mixed CO/CO2 steams) into intermediates for polyurethane plastics for rigid foams/building insulation and coatings.
