The TEMPO workshop 'New digital solutions for lower temperatures' will take place on 7 November 2019 in Brescia (Italy). Organised by A2A Calore & Servizi and Euroheat & Power/DHC+, this event will showcase the latest technology developments on digitalisation in district heating and cooling and the innovations of TEMPO in terms of digital solutions for low-temperature networks.

It is clear that we need to build a more sustainable world. Groups of people from all different areas are working towards this goal. However, so often we work in silos, trying to leverage our specific expertise only. The problem is that climate change is complex. The challenges we face and transformation we need impact a huge variety of actors, topics and fields in an interrelated way. These are not separated by expertise or field, so our approach to overcoming climate-related challenges can’t be siloed either.

The climate emergency is one of the most talked about and vocalised issues the population of the Earth currently faces with climate strikes now being a weekly occurrence and with a regular spot on the 6 o'clock news, it's no surprise that mitigation against climate change is high on the policy agenda.

This Deliverable has been prepared under Work Package 2 (Formulating recommendations on national energy policy priorities for 2050 and fostering multi – level cooperation and governance). It provides information about national long-term energy and climate policy priorities, indicates bottom-up recommendations on targets, priorities and actions for 2050 and sets recommendations for multi - level governance improvements in each project country.

In the EU, air pollution is responsible for around 400,000 premature deaths every year. Poor air quality can lead to lung cancer, strokes, heart attacks and acute respiratory diseases in children.
Poland’s Małopolska region, along with parts of Czechia and Slovakia, is one of Europe’s most polluted areas. Pollution is particularly heavy in winter when, to keep their homes warm, people burn coal and sometimes waste, releasing smog into the air that threatens people’s health.

The first release of the THERMOS tool has been developed within the EU H2020 project THERMOS (October 2016 – June 2020). It is a free, open-source software that offers local authorities address-level data for the optimised expansion of an existing system, the planning of an entirely new system, or assessing the performance of specific networks or non-networked solutions via direct comparison.
