The HARP project has launched a survey to understand what motivates customers to switch to a more efficient heating system: is it the prospect of saving money? reducing CO2 emissions? an improved indoor air quality?
Knowing this will help us develop an online application that will motivate as many individuals as possible to retrofit their heating systems, promoting the benefits and advantages that matter most.

Aerogels are open-porous, high-performance thermal insulation materials that can be used for very thinbuilding insulation. So far, the application conditions of these materials and their potential in heritagebuildings have not yet been described comprehensively. This review shows the technical properties ofcommercially available aerogel materials – such as blankets, boards and renders – and their use scenariosin heritage buildings, taking into account the heritage criteria of authenticity, integrity, reversibility andcompatibility.

Historic buildings account for more than one quarter of Europe’s existing building stock and are going to be crucial in the achievement of future energy targets. Nevertheless, some alteration in the climate is already certain. For instance, the global surface temperature is expected to increase up 2°C by the end of the 21st century and extreme climate events are expected to be more frequent. The length, frequency and intensity of heat waves will increase in large parts of Europe, Asia and Australia .

Procredit Bank Macedonia will on-lend funds to local households, housing associations and service providers planning to invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, the EBRD said on its website.
Possible investments will include green technologies such as boilers, windows and lighting. The building stock in North Macedonia is in urgent need of refurbishment, and the introduction of insulation, for example, is expected to lower costs and improve comfort.

An increased energy performance of buildings not only reduces energy costs and CO2 emissions, but creates jobs, increases the comfort and health of its occupants and brings environmental benefits in terms of improved air quality. Valuing these multiple benefits is key to making investment decision more viable and thus accelerating building renovation.
