District energy is a modern solution to traditional challenges.   In Europe, heating and cooling accounts for half of all energy consumption and around 40% of GHG emissions. Only 15% of this heat is generated from renewable energy.

This is an updated version of the Analytical Report “Improving the human capital basis” published in 2017. Based on both statistical data and policy analysis, it provides insights and lessons learnt related to the workforce in the construction sector. The data collection for this report was performed before January 2020, before Brexit went into effect. Therefore, this report refers to EU as EU-28 and the United Kingdom is considered as a part of European Union.

Energy performance to be assessed The Norwegian demo case, located in Oslo, is the first example of a successful implementation of 4RinEU methodology. The renovation works took place in the second half of 2018 and lasted only eight weeks, during which the tenants kept living in their dwellings.

Both full research reports and work-in-progress reports are welcome. There will be both oral and poster sessions.   One registration covers 5 pages including tables, figures and references, and additional pages will be chargeable.
