Features: Calculates whole-building energy performance and indoor climate, using hourly climate data for a year. It is an EPBD calculation tool that can be used for checking compliance with the Norwegian building regulations (TEK), the Norwegian passive house standards (NS 3700, NS 3701), and for energy labelling. In this work, the whole cost analysis method is applied, as outlined in the Standard, to assess the overall economic and energy feasibility of different types of building façade technologies. As there is an absence of comprehensive data on buildings at European level, we placed the European building stock (EU 27 as well as Switzerland and Norway) under the microscope to investigate its main features, including building characteristics, building codes and other regulatory measures. The collected data allowed to determine the energy and CO2 saving potential of European buildings and to model a variety of scenarios for the systematic renovation of the European building stock till 2050.
