MOEEBIUS project faces the challenge of reducing energy consumption in the building sector, based on modelling optimization of energy efficiency in buildings for urban sustainability. Project’s ambition was to elaborate products and services that will enable the minimization of the 'performance gap' and promote customer confidence in the attractiveness of diverse energy efficiency business models and contracts, such as Energy Performance Contracting (EPC).

CommONEnergy focuses on existing shopping malls to be refurbished and buildings with a different original function, redesigned to become shopping malls. Wholesales and Retail buildings represent 28% of the total non-residential ones (BPIE, 2010). Considering typical shopping malls high impact on modern society (ICSC, 2008), the project addresses their transformation as lighthouses of energy efficient architectures and systems as well as assessment transparency.

ENEA, jointly with the Construction Technologies Institute of the CNR, has made available the new version of DOCET, a simplified software tool for the certification of existing residential buildings, targeted at technicians and operators of the building sector. The software, to be used for buildings up to 200 m2 without major renovations, can draft the energy performance certificate (APE), which assesses the energy efficiency and energy class of a building and includes recommendations on how to best improve the energy efficiency of the property.

ZERO-PLUS project - Development of intelligent models for realtime performance assessment of NZE settlements
The monitoring and evaluation of the settlements’ performance is an essential part of the ZERO-PLUS project. Under the framework of the task “Intelligent models for performance assessment and reliability-centered maintenance” intelligent data processing models have been developed. The models are intended to be incorporated in the Web-GIS platform for performance assessment and increased reliability of the ZERO-PLUS case studies’ implementation.
