During this webinar, you will have the chance to gain insights into implementation of a large network of storage solutions at low and medium voltage level on the German island of Borkum. Storage technologies cover for example batteries, UltraCapacitors and hydrogen storage using a variety of storage technologies and management systems.

The iBRoad project video has been completed with shots in Berlin and Athens, describing what is the building logbook (iBroad-Log) and the individual building renovation roadmap (iBRoad-Plan), and how they will enable a building’s deep renovation.   The video answers relevant questions by interviewing some of the key experts from the iBRoad consortium.   There is both a short (3’34’’) and a long (14’12”) version of the video available with subtitles in 10 languages (Εnglish, Greek, French, German, Bulgarian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Romanian).

The EU-funded, Horizon 2020 project STUNNING, which promotes knowledge exchange and interaction in the field of energy-efficient building renovation, is conducting a survey on barriers for energy refurbishments to seek out answers and recommendations for the stagnant renovation rate in Europe. Based on the survey’s evaluation, STUNNING will provide insights on the processes that need to take place for the alleviation of the most common obstacles and market failures.

PV-Prosumers4Grid (PVP4Grid) is an EU-funded project involving 12 partners from various European countries, beginning in October 2017 and running until March 2020. The main objective of PVP4Grid is to increase the market share and market value of PV by enabling consumers to become PV prosumers in a system-friendly manner. PVP4Grid aims at a better power system integration of PV with a focus on market integration.

In a joint factsheet, BPIE and the Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) recommend the introduction of minimum energy performance standards for rental buildings. In general, a household is said to be in energy poverty when its members cannot afford to keep adequately warm. The combination of low incomes, energy prices and inefficient housing leads to energy poverty.

The EmBuild project published this assessment of the updated national renovation strategies of Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Romania and Slovenia. The development and implementation of national renovation strategies by EU Member States is required by the EU Energy Efficiency Directive (EED). Article 4 of the Directive required national governments to present a first version of their renovation strategy to the European Commission in April 2014, and that this strategy be updated every three years.

This report, developed under the framework of the H2020 project EmBuild, mirrors the step-by-step approach used to support municipalities with their renovation strategies: planning (including gathering data to establish an inventory of the building stock and developing policies and measures), investing (identifying sources of financing) and capturing the benefits of renovation.

The STUNNING Renovation Hub, a virtual platform for the interactive knowledge exchange in energy-efficient building renovation, was launched by the EU-funded, Horizon 2020 project STUNNING in September 2018. It enables stakeholders throughout the value chain to share knowledge and experiences with each other through articles on their innovative refurbishment packages, replicable business models and case studies on their successful implementation.
