Delivering the vision of climate-neutrality by 2050 as defined in the Paris Agreement is only achievable if the whole building stock, including retail real estate portfolios, is thoroughly renovated and sustainable design of new buildings is adopted.

The construction sector is an industry that consumes substantial amount of material sources and energy and produces significant volume of waste.
It nevertheless also carries innovation: digital product passports and building certificates are being introduced; Building Information Modelling (BIM) is applied into big public procurement projects, 3D printing emerges as a feasible construction technology, and the industry considers robotization and automation as a huge labour productivity boost.

During 2019, the first year, the BIM4EEB project outlined needs and requirements to be satisfied during the renovation process in order to ensure the best adaptation of the methodological and technological features of BIM4EEB toolset to the specific needs of the users.

Improving energy efficiency in public buildings is at the core of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) and Energy Performance Building Directive (EPBD).
The eCentral project aims to support key stakeholders in the energy renovation of public buildings, to promote the benefits of nZEBs – nearly zero energy buildings, and to deploy innovative financing schemes.

ePANACEA user-needs workshops will take place from mid December 2020 to mid January 2021, and end users of EPC as well as other stakeholders are invited to take part.
The workshops, each with in total 15 participants, will have a duration of approx. 2 hours and will be conducted by project partners in the ePANACEA pilot countries Spain, Belgium, Finland, Austria, and Greece, as well as in Germany.
