The report is based on the screening of the National Energy Efficiency Action Plans (NEEAPs) as well as an expert survey, on the implementation of those policies since the first NEEAPs were published in 2007. The report provides a unique overview of policy packages and the current implementation status of energy efficiency policies in Malta.

In this category you will find a list of the existing national and regional funding mechanisms that are aimed at legal persons, e.g. companies, SMEs, municipalities, homeowners associations etc. These schemes have greater diversity than those aimed at natural persons, because they range from relatively small, single-building interventions to large, neighbourhood-scale projects. The funds can be available in non-repayable investments and/or favourable loans (often a combination of the two).

The 2012 Sector Study commissioned by the Architects’ Council of Europe shows that the profession is still suffering from the economic downturn. Although rates of decline are falling, architects have had to adapt to this on-going situation.

This scheme is now closed.   This support scheme was launched by the Malta Resources Authority (MRA) to encourage the use of roof thermal insulation material and double glazed windows or doors for domestic use.   The scheme is regulated by Government Notice 409 of 2012.
