The CoNZEBs project formed the main part of a session at the IAQVEC conference in Bari in September 2019. CoNZEBs project partner held in total 6 presentations including a project overview, different project results and one of the national exemplary NZEB buildings presented in the end-user brochure. The papers are published as open source documents in IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, Volume 609.

The main goal of the EU Horizon 2020 project CoNZEBs was to identify technology combinations for multi-family houses that fulfil the Nearly Zero-Energy Building (NZEB) requirements but result in lower investment costs if compared to the typical (mainstream) NZEB technology combinations.

The CoNZEBs team has identified potential technical solution sets that can reduce cost in the construction process for NZEBs.
The scientific partners assessed the costs related to the construction and operation phase according to the specific conditions applying in the participant countries, i.e. Denmark, Germany, Italy and Slovenia.

The report Inclusion of New Buildings in Residential Building Typologies - Steps Towards NZEBs Exemplified for Different European Countries
is a 2014 deliverable of the EPISCOPE project.
As it is expected, more than one quarter of the European 2050s building stock is still to be built. Consequently, the effective implementation of Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings (NZEBs) needs to be supported by providing guidance, common principles and quality checks of the concepts.

The study examines the experiences with building typologies in the European countries. The objective is to learn how to structure the variety of energy-related features of existing buildings. As a result of the enquiry it can be stated that there are a lot of different activities which are based on typological criteria. Some of them are concentrating on providing information material and conducting energy advice.
