The EU Clean Energy package has for the first time in history integrated “energy communities” in European Legislation. This decisive step recognises energy communities as an emerging market actor, encourages the utilization of local renewable energy sources (RES) and calls for Members States to design enabling frameworks supporting their development.

Citizens Energy Communities are becoming increasingly popular at policy level and in society generally, for environmental, economic and social reasons. Each community may have one or more of a range of objectives and activities. For example, raising environmental and energy awareness from a social and/or economic perspective may result in an education program; or a desire to be self-supporting, or less reliant on energy suppliers, may lead a community to explore Distributed Energy Resources (DERs).

The aim of EPATEE’s final conference is to present the conclusion of the project as well as to provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange knowledge and discuss existing practices of the evaluation of energy efficiency policies in order to establish an energy efficiency evaluation community.
The conference serves at achieving one of EPATEE’s main targets: to enable user-oriented experience sharing and capacity building.

The REScoop Plus project aims to make Europe go beyond their activities of producing and supplying energy and take up energy savings for their members as a new pillar in their organisations.
In the project REScoop Plus it was first made an overall inventory of all activities on energy savings of energy cooperatives.
