The project EFFECT4buildings develops in collaboration with public building managers a comprehensive decision-making support toolbox with a set of financial instruments to unlock the investments and lower the risks of implementing energy efficiency measures (retrofitting, upgrading and deep renovation) in buildings owned by public stakeholders.

The “One-stop-shops for energy renovations of buildings” report is the exploratory review of case studies of past and current one-stop-shops (OSS) with a primary focus on the EU Member States. One-stop-shops are transparent and accessible advisory tools from the client perspective and new, innovative business models from the supplier perspective.

InnoEnergy, Naturgy, Enagas, Barcelona Activa and CEiiA have opened this month a new edition of Cleantech Camp, a training program aimed at business ideas or companies in the initial phase, in the clean energy sector. The promoters of the program seek to receive ideas for a selection of a maximum of 15 projects, which are preferably focused on promoting energy efficiency, the low-carbon economy as well as smarter and more sustainable cities.

European countries must thoroughly modernize their building stock. The EU directives envision raising the refurbishment rate to around 3%, representing an estimated 110 million buildings across the EU. However, several barriers exist that keep actual retrofitting rates far below envisioned ones, especially in southern countries. Retrofitting at the district level has been found to be an effective way to overcome the obstacles that prevent the retrofitting rate from rising above its current rate of 0.2% - 1.0%.

The REVALUE project partners have delivered recommendations for key stakeholders on how best to ensure energy efficiency is included in the valuation process. There are long-term risk implications for low energy performance properties and the lending industry is beginning to recognise this. The report introduce AI as a generic term that refers to any machine or algorithm that is capable of observing its environment, learning, and based on the knowledge and experience gained, take intelligent actions or propose decisions. Autonomy of decision processes and interaction with other machines and humans are other dimensions that need to be considered.

“We will co-finance the procurement and installation of biomass boilers and heat pumps by individuals with HRK 12 million. Depending on the location of the house, it is possible to get co-financing of between 40% and 80% of the project value, but not more than HRK 35,000 including VAT, to install a biomass system or up to HRK 45,000 for heat pump systems,” FZOEU Director Dubravko Ponoš said.
