ZERO-PLUS project - Development of intelligent models for realtime performance assessment of NZE settlements
The monitoring and evaluation of the settlements’ performance is an essential part of the ZERO-PLUS project. Under the framework of the task “Intelligent models for performance assessment and reliability-centered maintenance” intelligent data processing models have been developed. The models are intended to be incorporated in the Web-GIS platform for performance assessment and increased reliability of the ZERO-PLUS case studies’ implementation.

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Internet of Things (IoT) have assumed a key role for energy efficiency in buildings: sensors (temperature sensor in a room, electrical power measuring device), actuators (HVAC room controller, motor), complex devices (PLC providing home, building or industrial automation), monitoring systems are a common standard that involves a wide range of stakeholders – from designers, to integrators, to operators and users.
Ae we ready to manage the risks and benefits of IoT in smart buildings?

Pilot or demonstration buildings are made in order to test new innovative technologies or to demonstrate that a defined level of high building energy performance is possible in reality. These buildings are show cases that allow experts and the general public to visit and see technologies in practice. If the projects would stop after the design and the construction, the real test i.e. the energy performance in practice would not be taken. For some tasks like meeting the predicted energy consumptions, monitoring could be simply based on the analysis of the energy bills.
