This Community aims at discussing on the challenge of insulating a building from the inside. It disseminates the most relevant publications, technologies and news. In particular, it raises awareness to the building sector on the contribution of product materials to insulate buildings from the inside. This Community is facilitated by EUROGYPSUM, the European federation of national associations of gypsum products manufacturers.

In total, nearly 4500 square meters of the three palaces will be covered by insulation – the equivalent of 100 average semi-detached houses. 11,000 rolls of insulation will be required for the project which will take around 1000 hours to complete.

The Green Deal is the Government’s new and radical way of making energy efficiency available to all, whether people own or rent their property. The work to upgrade the property will be paid back from the saving on energy bills.
Chris Huhne, visiting British Gas’ Energy Academy in Thatcham, said: “The Green Deal’s about making people feel as warm as toast in their homes. I want Britain to say goodbye forever to leaky lofts and chilly draughts. At a time of increasing gas prices energy efficiency is a no-brainer.

Leading the way in the scheme, which places a requirement on energy companies to help consumers save energy, are Kirklees (22.5%), Anglesey (18%), Carmarthenshire (14.6%), Wyre (13.4%) and South Ribble (13.3%).
“The figures reveal that some areas are doing better than others, partly because some homes are more difficult and expensive to insulate,” says Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Chris Huhne.
