2019 kicked off with a pipeline full of opportunities for institutional investors. Some real estate deals have been on hold since last year and have been waiting for someone to seize the opportunity; others have been waiting for timing and conditions to be defined. The trend is caracterized by private equity funds which continue to buy strategic assets in order to enhance their portfolios whilst trying to commercialize already held assets to regain liquidity and maximize their total returns.

The international market for green construction projects has grown significantly in the last 10 years and demand for green building activity is poised to grow in the next three years, according to a new report and industry survey published by Dodge Data & Analytics. The World Green Building Trends 2018 SmartMarket Report indicates an increase in the percentage of industry respondents who expect to do the majority (more than 60%) of their projects green – jumping from 27% in 2018 to almost half (47%) by 2021.

Funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme, the QualitEE project aims to increase investment in energy efficiency services in the building sector within the EU and improve trust in service providers. This will be achieved by developing quality assessment criteria and implementing quality assurance schemes. QualitEE builds upon the Transparense project, which established the European Code of Conduct for Energy Performance Contracting in 2014.
