More than three fourths of renovated households have achieved or even exceeded the expected savings after refurbishment, as revealed by Energiaklub’s most recent country-wide representative sample survey.One fifth of the households intend to implement energy related renovation of their homes in the near future. 41% of the households are planning the renovations because of the high energy costs. Most of the plans include the change of doors and windows (44%) and thermal insulation of walls (39%).

The Monument Information System is based on the “Raumbuch” (roombook) is presented on this poster. It is an inventory documentation tool that enables the structured documentation on urban and building level down to the single room. Thus users can “move” through the building on different levels of detail. To support a constructive discussion across all disciplines involved in preserving the heritage information of the objects is cross-linked to energy issues.

Those solutions have to be very specifically targeted and adapted to the particular building case. These are the results of a survey published by the Deutsche Energie-Agentur (dena) – the German Energy Agency.* dena is therefore calling for fresh political and business initiatives to tap the substantial remaining savings potential.

The main objective is to draw a realistic overview of the state of the art and, overall, the needs and requirements which could enable to perform a real innovation in this sector. time required to fill in survey is approx. 15-20 minutes.

The Survey should be completed online, on the NEES web site (www.neesonline.org).
