On 18 November 2015, the European Commission published the first State of the Energy Union Report which shows that much progress has already been made since the adoption of the Energy Union Framework Strategy nine months ago. According to the report, the EU is on track to meet both the 2020 emissions reduction target of 20% and the Kyoto Protocol targets.
