Campaigning and awareness raising

A total of 100 households were challenged to do what they could to reduce their environmental footprint. They were selected to be nationally representative - including demographics, social groups and house types. Each household received an initial environmental audit from a member of the project team and an attitudinal survey to understand their views on environmental matters. They were also given a project pack of information and ‘green’ equipment, along with £500 to spend in support of their environmental improvements.

The project Keep Cool II proposes different actions to achieve this goal. For this it is divided in two phases. The first one provides analysis and technical tools to overcome the most important barriers by introducing sustainable summer comfort. The second phase is addressing existing networks and policy makers on national and European level by providing them information materials with good practice examples designed especially for the target groups. It will accompanied by dissemination campaigns.

The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), as part of European policy to stimulate energy efficiency in housing, offers vast energy saving potential. Some € 56 million will be made available, supporting up to 75% of the eligible project costs. Any public or private organisation from the EU, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Croatia can apply. Only online applications are possible. Deadline for submission is 24th June, 17:00 local Brussels' time. Applying for IEE funding is a highly competitive process. Your project proposal must be of a high professional quality to have a reasonable chance of being selected for funding.
