ASSIST is a 3-year H2020 project that started in 2017. It is implemented in six countries: Italy, Spain, UK, Poland, Finland and Belgium.   The idea is to contribute to tackle energy poverty through operators with integrated competencies.

  In a first step, the DGNB criteria for new buildings will be adapted to local peculiarities in Spain and tested in a pilot phase.   This adaptation should be completed by mid-2020. Other forms of certification of the DGNB, for example in the field of renovation, for buildings in use or for urban districts, will be available in Spain in the future as well.

The latest trends in final energy consumption have shown that the main energy efficiency target of 20% overall energy efficiency improvement by 2020 could be missed.   By the end of 2019, the EU Member States will submit their final National Energy & Climate Plans, including targets for 2030 and strategies to achieve them.
