In aktuellen Forschungsprojekten werden derzeit verschiedene Konzepte entwickelt und erprobt. Vorgestellt werden zukunftsorientierte Lüftungskonzepte, Möglichkeiten der automatisierten und hybriden Fensterlüftung sowie Erfahrungen mit sogenannten Lüftungsampeln.

Le secteur du bâtiment est le plus gros "dévoreur" d'énergie en France avec 42,5 % de l'énergie totale consommée. Un secteur qui contribue pour 23 % aux émissions totales de CO² dans l'Hexagone. Avec la Règlementation thermique 2005 et la loi Grenelle 1, les normes d'efficacité énergétique des logements ont été renforcées. Les bâtiments et les équipements publics étaient les premiers concernés. Aujourd'hui, une nouvelle étape est franchie avec la généralisation des normes bâtiments basse consommation (BBC) aux logements privés neufs d'ici à 2012.

Anyone who submitted his building(s) to the respective National Contact Point for GreenBuilding between January 2008 and September 2010, has automatically taken part in the European GreenBuilding Award competition 2010. The National Award winners of 9 EU-countries were assessed by a five-member jury according to defined quantitative and qualitative criteria. Among them, the jury has chosen the 13 most ambitious projects in the categories Best Endorser, Best Corporate Partner, Best Refurbishment Projects, and Best New Projects.

Minimum standards for energy efficiency measures such as cavity wall insulation will also be set through future revisions to building regulations. These will be based on those revisions outlined in a recent consultation on the Code for Sustainable Homes, which set key benchmarks for the sustainability of new homes. Mr Shapps also confirmed the allocation of £600,000 to the Zero Carbon Hub to continue its work this year. The Hub has also been tasked with testing new benchmarks for carbon emission reductions.
