Interested in knowing the results of a supply side management simulation made to a non-residential building (a home for the elderly)? The work consisted in the use of dynamic simulation information of a projected non-residential building (a home for the elderly), in the dimensioning of the RES based integrated solution to provide thermal energy (DHW, ambient heating and ambient cooling). Without DSM measures CO2 emissions dropped 50 %. However, economical viability was hardly achieved in this subsidized-free project.

Building of Tomorrow  http://www.hausderzukunft.at/english.htm  is a research, technology and development programme from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT for short). Starting from the low-energy solar building approach and the concept of the passive building, and incorporating ways of using environmentally friendly and renewable materials in construction, new designs with great promise for the future have been developed and implemented.

En 2007, la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale lançait l’appel à projets « Bâtiments exemplaires de l’éco-construction et de l’énergie ». Trois ans plus tard, avec 117 projets lauréats représentant plus de 265.000 m² de bâtiments qui consomment jusqu’à 10 fois moins d’énergie, Bruxelles est devenue l’un des leaders en matière de bâtiments à très hautes performances environnementales. Le Gouvernement régional a décidé de poursuivre et renforcer cette dynamique en lançant la 4ème édition de l’appel à projets, avec une enveloppe de 5 millions d’euros.
