3rd MEnS, Front Meeting of Skills – Holistic Approach to Sustainable Retrofit

The MEnS Consortium is glad to invite you to join our third Front Meeting of Skills, from Wednesday 26th to Friday 28th October 2016, in Aarhus, Denmark. 

 

The Front Meetings of Skills is a novel training activity created as part of a European funded project, MEnS, Meeting of Energy Professional Skills. To know more about MEnS, please visit the project website here: www.mens-nzeb.eu

 

The Front Meetings of Skills consists of a mix of presentations, contents, experience exchanges, and building site technical visits. The seminar will include speakers from various European countries representing different approaches to holistic sustainable energy retrofit of residential buildings, including some of the most recent innovative products and business models for the built environment.

 

This will be an opportunity to expand your professional network and to link with like-minded practitioners, stakeholders, manufacturers and businesses from all around Europe.

The activities are addressed to professionals within the construction sector. The aim is to increase the skills and knowledge towards Nearly Zero Energy Buildings, with a specific focus on existing buildings.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

 

You will learn about experiences of high energy efficiency retrofit at building and district level, from Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

In specific, the following key topics:

Smart City: Sustainable retrofits as part of local strategic energy planning and urban planning
Smart Districts: Examples of retrofit projects at city district level within the framework of the overall urban planning
Smart Buildings: Specific examples of sustainable building retrofits

 

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

 

Architects, Engineers, Facilities Managers, Surveyors, Designers, Building Managers, Energy Managers...

.... And any other professional involved with buildings design, construction and/or operation in Housing Associations, construction materials manufacturers, building services providers, smart homes and energy monitoring systems, building energy modelling technologies.

9.00 am – 3:00 pm: Site visits to case studies in Aarhus (Rosenhøj, Langkærparken)

3:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Evaluation of the FMS, Navitas

 

 

COSTS, SELECTION PROCESS, ELIGIBILITY AND PRIORITY CRITERIA

 

Participation is free

The attendance to the 3 days of training activities, the guided technical visits and the transportation to and from the buildings sites on Day 3 are FREE of charge for all attendees. Coffee breaks and a walking lunch are included.

 

Registration

Only 40 places are available for the seminar. Participants will be selected to get a balanced representation of current professionals (designers, building managers, etc.) and unemployed aspiring graduates, from a variety of appropriate science and technology degree disciplines.

Eligibility criteria for potential participation in the Front Meeting of Skills in Denmark are defined as follows:

  1. Professionals in the construction industry/estate managements, seeking to develop their NZEB practices
  2. Eligible for Level 7 Study (meaning you have an equivalent Level 6 qualification or at least one of the following: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Diploma of Higher Education, etc.)
  3. Currently reside in the European Union.
