6 th International BUILDAIR-Symposium - International BlowerDoor-Symposium

The requirements for highly energy-efficient buildings are being tightened with every new Energy Saving Regulation. The allowable heat energy consumption will be clearly adjusted towards the passive house level by the Energy Saving Regulation 2012. The future default is the nearly-zero-energy building. Such an energy efficient building cannot be achieved through good heat insulation alone, but also by a durable, air-tight building envelope. Thus, detailed knowledge in planning, execution and quality assurance is necessary through Blower-Door testing and thermography. The BUILDAIR-Symposium this year speaks to the practitioners as energy consultants, planners, craftsmen, and quality controllers, and provides information about the current state of knowledge to architects, building owners, policymakers and the housing industry. The latest information on standardisation and Technical Scientific Working Groups (WTA) will be presented and explained. Further presentations deal with methods for quality assurance concerning air tightness measurements and special measurement procedures. The participants will acquire an overview of current scientific results on the durability of adhesive bonds and will discuss their status quo, including standardisation. The newly founded European TightVent platform will be presented. As usual, the symposium will integrate contributions from European neighbour countries that are relevant for experts and which aide the professional exchange on many levels. Like the Annual Meeting of the Association for Air Tightness in the Building Industry (FLiB), the symposium takes place at Adlershof con.vent. in Berlin, Germany. More information:
