The International Living Future Institute is hosting a series of Living Building Challenge Workshops and events across the continent aiming to share and teach:
- How to create truly biophilic and regenerative buildings and communities
- How to become a Zero Energy leader
- How to achieve a Net Positive Water demand
- How to select Healthy Materials
These workshops are aimed at architects, engineers, developers and product manufacturers interested in innovative and transformative solutions, providing insights from leaders in the green building community through real-world examples. Workshop participants will receive instruction on the actionable tools and techniques that can be applied in your local context.
FOR THIS EVENT ILFI is hosting a full day event, which will introduce the Living Building Challenge as a framework for guiding regenerative design and explore in depth the main aspects of restorative design through a number of workshops focused on Biophilia, Energy, Water and Materials.
Participants will be able to select specific workshops they like to participate in based on their interest. The main workshop on Bio- philia will be hosted by Amanda Sturgeon, an award-winning architect, CEO of the ILFI and author of Creating Biophilic Buildings.
This event will attract architects, engineers, developers and product manufacturers interested in innovative and transformative solutions for their projects. It is limited to 70 participants and will be hosted at the NEST CITY LAB, the only office space in Spain registered under the International Living Future Institute’s Biophilic Design Initiative.
OVERVIEW OF WORKSHOPS
WORKSHOP 1 How to Create Truly Biophilic and Regenerative Buildings and Communities This workshop, facilitated by Amanda Sturgeon will show you how the intrinsic connection between people and nature can be repaired, helping to maintain health and joy, productivity, efficiency and sense of belonging.
WORKSHOP 2 How to become a Zero Energy Leader This workshop will provide an in depth understanding of the LBC requirements of the Net Positive Energy Petal, the Zero Energy Building (ZEB) CertificationTM and Zero Carbon Certification.
WORKSHOP 3 Net Positive Water The balance between water demand and availability has reached a critical level in many southern areas of Europe, the result of over-abstraction and prolonged periods of low rainfall or drought.
WORKSHOP 4 Materials This workshop will allow you to understand the value of the Declare label as a tool for market transformation in Europe. A tool thought to help architects research and identify appropriate and safe materials on a tight timeline and budget.
