Energy Efficient Building Stock

The international conference Energy efficient building stock – present and future requirements of our European neighbours will be held at the Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz, Bau und Reaktorsicherheit (BMUB) (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety), in Bonn, Germany, on 16 September 2015. The conference aims to inform attendees on the current requirements, provisions and programmes of some of the EU Member States (MS) regarding the existing building stock. It also provides a platform to compare MS strategies, discuss future potentials and identify obstacles in this field.


The main topics of the conference presentations are:


  • Requirements for existing buildings according to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
  • Country presentations: System of energetic requirements and further tools for existing buildings (Belgium, France, Germany, Luxemburg, Norway, The Netherlands, United Kingdom).



Simultaneous English/German translation will be provided in all presentations. Furthermore, a panel discussion will take place after the presentations.
