Innovation 4 Renovation: Affordable financing for home renovation in Europe

 

lnnovation and strong collaboration between public and private actors in Europe are critical in increasing the renovation rate of the residential building stock to achieve the region's 2030 climate goals. As such, this summit offers European cities and regional representatives the unique opportunity to learn from and interact with experts from the home renovation and financing sectors.

 

The event showcases the best practices and lessons learned from the H2020 funded EuroPACE project, as well as case studies and recent developments in the European home renovation market. An emphasis is placed on one-stop-shops advancing the Renovation Wave, private financing stimulating residential renovations and alleviating energy poverty, and replication of successful integrated home renovation business models.

 

Day 1 | Integrated home renovation platforms advancing the Renovation Wave - May 26th | 10-11 (CEST)

 

This session will focus on the impact that one-stop-shops have had on the European renovation rate, featuring successful initiatives from OSS programs including HolaDomus, De Energiebespaarders, and Dorémi. In addition, it will approach methods to overcome barriers which commonly impede the uptake of private household renovations, including knowledge deficits, financial barriers, market failure and value chain fragmentation, and regulatory challenges.

 

Day 2 | Private financing: Stimulating the Renovation Wave and alleviating energy poverty - June 2nd | 10-11 (CEST)

 

Within this session, several topics will be discussed including attracting private investment stakeholders to the renovation business, increasing the volume of operations, the blending of public and private investments, various ways of using EU recovery funds to support renovation, green mortgages, creating efficient financing instruments that are accessible to most people, and more.

 

Day 3 | Renovation programs inspired by EuroPACE - June 9th | 10-11:15 (CEST)

 

This session will be centered on one-stop-shop’s replication potential within the EU, with a focus on EuroPACE replication. The Opengela, REGENERATE, and FITHOME models inspired by the PACE and EuroPACE concepts will be explored, and will give insight to local citizen-centric replication.
