The Global Energy Efficiency Accelerator Platform: An initiative of Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL)


To date there has been widespread interest in joining the energy efficiency activities of Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) and making commitments to act through joining the Global Energy Efficiency Accelerator Platform('the Platform'). The Platform Secretariat and Accelerator Convenors are now focussed on connecting these public sector ‘commitment makers’ with knowledge/assistance providers and private sector implementation partners to turn their energy efficiency ambitions into results on the ground.


This Seminar, organised in the framework of EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), will raise the issues and challenges of doing this, i.e. what needs to be done to create effective Energy Efficiency (EE) delivery partnerships between city and country governments who have committed to EE improvement, and the private sector service, product and finance providers that can help them deliver.


Having framed the issues, a share of the event will be given over to attendee discussion of the suggestions and recommendations for how the Platform can better create implementation partnerships between public and private sector in key markets. In that sense it will be relatively hands-on and is intended to generate key recommendations to be taken forward through Accelerator Platform coordination activities.
