Guided Tour: Discover Molenbeek through its Sustainable Buildings

Share this Post:

Two discovery tours through Molenbeek’s sustainable buildings are held in the framework of the European Union Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW 2016). Many of the buildings included in the tour come from neighbourhood revitalisation programmes.

The municipality of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean has resolutely opted to make all new buildings meet passive standards. In addition to this excellent energy performance, the town is oriented towards more sustainable solutions, such as the use of green building materials, solutions which improve biodiversity areas which reinforce social bonds, and the use of renewable energy.

This choice to be exemplary in the use of energy and environmentally friendly materials does not neglect the architectural quality of the buildings and their integration into the public space.
