RAMSES Project | 1st Training Event

Share this Post:

The main aim of RAMSES research project (Reconciling Adaptation, Mitigation and Sustainable Development for citiES) is to deliver evidence of the impacts of climate change and the costs and benefits of a wide range of adaptation measures, focusing on cities. RAMSES engages stakeholders to ensure this information is policy relevant and ultimately enables the design and implementation of adaptation strategies in the EU and beyond.

During the RAMSES training event, cities will receive training on how to use the RAMSES Project results to support their local adaptation planning.

Particularly, cities will learn how to:

  • calculate the impacts of climate change on public health and the costs connected to them, as well as identify adaptation measures to counteract them;
  • assess the effect of different adaptation options on cities’ economy and their ability to respond to heat;
  • select between different adaptation pathways and elaborate a vision to a more climate resilient future;
  • make use of the RAMSES Audiovisual guidance developed by the Climate Media Factory.

Presenters will include ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability), The London School of Economics, Tecnalia and the World Health Organisation.
