The European Commission is organizing a public conference on Financing Energy Efficiency in the Baltic States, in partnership with the Latvian government, on 11 November 2016 in Riga (Latvia) from 9.00 to 15.30.
The event aims to share best practices from the region on how energy efficiency can be financed through private funds and innovative financing instruments, notably in the building and industry sectors. Speakers will focus on practical experiences in developing and structuring investment programmes, which will then be discussed with the different stakeholders.
The event will gather stakeholders from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia representing national policy makers, private sector financiers, energy services providers, local decision makers and project developers.
More specifically the event will address:
- The European and national policies in place for energy efficiency finance
- The use of the European Structural Funds in the form of loans or guarantees
- The potential for energy performance contracting and the financing of ESCO's (energy service companies)
- Best practices in leveraging private bank finance on energy efficiency
The conference will be conducted in English.
The attendance to the event is free of charge for all attendees. Please note that attendees are responsible for their own travel and accommodation fees.
In the case that registrations are above the room capacity, participants will be selected to allow a balanced representation of stakeholders.
