Speakers form the European Commission will introduce the EPBD 2018 and the role of the Smart Readiness Indicator, as well as the requirements regarding inspection and digital monitoring of HVAC systems in the new EPBD.
The building “smartness” concept will be further developed through the speeches by IEA Annex 67 representatives, exploring the potential of energy flexible buildings, and by REHVA experts involved in a brand new REHVA Task Force on smart buildings and user comfort.
Moreover, examples of implementation of smart/digital tools to improve buildings energy performances will be brought on stage by three European projects. Mobistyle coordinator will explain how the interaction user-smart devices can shift energy related behaviour towards more sustainable practices. QUANTUM coordinator will describe the role of digital tools for technical monitoring and quality management of HVAC systems in closing the energy performance gap. In the afternoon, hybridGEOTABS researchers will present the potential of Model Predictive Control algorithms in minimizing energy use in hybrid GEOTABS buildings while guaranteeing optimal comfort conditions.
The event will also present manufacturers’ perspectives. Eu.bac will present the opportunities offered by BACs for predictive maintenance of HVAC systems; Rhoss will offer an overview of the market trends for chiller and heat pumps; Daikin will explain the market and product development directions for ventilation and climate control strategies.
