The project H-House (Healthier Life with Eco-innovative Components for Housing Constructions), funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Union, aims to develop a number of new building systems suited to a society where environmental awareness and a high degree of living comfort are both required. The concept of the project is to develop new building components for external and internal walls for new buildings and for renovation.
The purpose of an adequate building envelope is protection against moisture ingress, heat loss in winter, overheating in summer and noise. Components for the internal walls should be able to buffer heat and humidity peaks and prevent pollutants and noise.
H-House will develop new eco-innovative materials and will focus on building components for a healthier indoor environment. Solutions for building envelope and internal walls will be durable, energy-efficient and affordable.
H-House solutions cover aspects of chemical and physical ‘activity’ of the developed building materials, their embodied energy, suitability for different applications and environments, durability, cost-efficiency and long-term improvement of energy efficiency of buildings.
