Interreg Europe provides assistance to three types of beneficiaries, based in one the 28 EU Member States, Switzerland or Norway:
- public authorities;
- managing authorities/intermediate bodies;
- agencies, research institutes, thematic and non-profit organisations.
Interreg Europe builds on its forerunner, INTERREG IVC (2007-2013) and aims to get maximum return from the EUR 359 million financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for 2014-2020.
Financial support from Interreg Europe supports any developed action falling into one of the following categories:
- Research and innovation
- SME competitiveness
- Low-carbon economy
- Environment and resource efficiency
