The Investor Confidence Project (ICP) of the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) develops a consensus framework to predict and measure energy savings, enabling the acceleration of energy efficiency investments in the commercial building sector.
Through ICP, EDF is working with engineers, industry allies, financial market participants, insurers, regulators and utilities to help define standard weights and measures that will facilitate the flow of private investment required to launch a global market for energy efficiency in buildings.
ΙCP Europe enables a marketplace for project developers, finance and energy service providers, utilities, and building owners, by reducing transaction and engineering costs for building renovation projects, while increasing the reliability and consistency of savings. It is developing a set of Energy Performance Protocols specific to the European sector, that will define a clear road map from a retrofit opportunity to an investor-ready energy efficiency project.
