re-MODULEES is a project funded under the EU's Horizon 2020 programme, having as an overall aim the creation of the EU-wide retrofit market activation framework in the residential building sector, supported by digital and physical Renovation Hubs at the member state and EU level.
A wealth of solutions has been developed under European projects, including technical solutions, innovative business models and financing schemes for renovation practices in EU, generally supporting holistic people-centered approaches, involving the whole value chain.
re-MODULEES aims to provide market uptake strategies, able to capitalise the results of such EU-funded projects on deep renovation.
re-MODULEES aims to create an EU-wide “umbrella” framework for energy efficiency in existing residential buildings based on the generation of standard modules for the retrofit market activation and up-take.
Modularity is intended as multi-level –regarding the “breakdown” of the overall retrofit process into standardised segments– and multi-target –regarding their customisation according to regional climatic, building, socio-economic and market conditions, in order to shape more effective tools and approaches through which to maximise cost-optimality, positive spillovers and impact.
This framework is based on clustering of efforts and evidence, and would allow shaping cross-regional policies, and generating wider homogeneous, integrated and facilitated retrofitting market areas.
