Kadaster collects and registers administrative and spatial data on property and the rights involved (This also goes for ships, aircraft and telecom networks). Doing so, Kadaster protects legal certainty. We are also responsible for national mapping and maintenance of the national reference coordinate system. Furthermore, we are an advisory body for land-use issues and national spatial data infrastructures.

In 2000 the Emporis website was founded as Skyscrapers.com, with a focus on collecting information on skyscrapers and high-rise buildings only. Since 2003 Emporis has branched out, widening its database by collecting building information on all construction types. In addition, the Image Shop has approximately 580,000 royalty-free photographs of buildings all over the world. Contributors are located worldwide: data is collected by our editorial Community, data researchers and public.

Data tables contain statistics related to construction, building technologies, energy consumption, and building characteristics.The Building Technologies Program within the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy developed this resource to provide a current and accurate set of comprehensive buildings- and energy-related data. The data hub has been created to assist policy makers at EU and Member State level, technical experts, building professionals, researchers, academics, consultants, NGOs and the broader energy efficiency in buildings community by giving them the possibility to access country profiles, search specific parameters, generate overviews and graphs as well as screen the underlying data. The tool allows for cross-country comparisons and cost free downloads. Only the access to the original data requires prior registration.
